Rolex Pre-Explorer

This model was introduced in the early 50's as one of the first time-only wristwatches capable of resisting water damage. This capability was due to the Rolex patented "Oyster" case with a screw-in case back. Further utilizing the "Oyster Perpetual" case design, easily legible Arabic numerals mixed in with pointer indices, as well as a robust caliber 645 automatic movement - the 6284 is essentially the Rolex Explorer before that model came into existence. The model was very popular at the time of release however nowadays they've become rare to find due in good condition such as the one we have for sale. Due to its age - I wouldn't risk putting the water resistance to the test - however if you're okay with that, then here's an opportunity to own a piece of Rolex history.
